ZX Series Coal-Water Slurry Additives

Select main additives for conventional, low-rank and special coal using coal properties, water quality, particle-size distribution and target concentration.

Compare models

ZX101

General coal compatibility

A baseline candidate for coal with favorable slurry-forming properties and conventional operating conditions.

Applications

  • Ordinary Heishan coal
  • Coal with favorable slurry-forming properties and conventional slurry preparation

Evaluation focus

  • Maximum achievable slurry concentration
  • Apparent viscosity and flowability
  • Static stability
  • Additive response

Combination guidance

Compare with MB16-B or WJ01 where further optimization is required, based on targets and test results.

ZX102

Enhanced low-rank coal compatibility

For Zhundong low-rank coal, focusing on particle dispersion and slurry rheology together with water quality and particle-size distribution.

Applications

  • Zhundong low-rank coal and coal with high-moisture tendencies
  • Strongly hydrophilic coal and complex blends

Evaluation focus

  • Maximum achievable slurry concentration
  • Apparent viscosity
  • Flowability and rheological response
  • Additive response

Combination guidance

Evaluate blends with WJ01 or WJ02 according to stability needs and coal variability.

ZX103

Enhanced special-coal compatibility

For weathered lignite, highly hydrophilic coal and variable coal properties, focusing on coal-water interface control and formulation compatibility.

Applications

  • Weathered lignite and highly hydrophilic coal
  • Variable or complex coal requiring enhanced interface control

Evaluation focus

  • Dispersion and interface compatibility
  • Apparent viscosity and flowability
  • Static stability
  • Blending response

Combination guidance

Compare with ZX102 and evaluate combinations with WJ02 where needed.

Application guidance

  • Ordinary Heishan coal and favorable slurry-forming properties: establish a ZX101 baseline.
  • Zhundong low-rank coal and high-moisture tendencies: prioritize ZX102 screening.
  • Weathered, highly hydrophilic or variable coal: prioritize ZX103 screening.
  • Regional context: typical coal-sample research ranges are approximately 54%–58% for Zhundong and 58%–68% for Heishan. These are research context, not guaranteed model performance.

Performance evaluation

  • Evaluate concentration, viscosity, flowability and stability together
  • Compare additive response and compatibility under changing coal properties

Combination guidance

  • Determine main-additive priorities through coal analysis and controlled comparisons.
  • Evaluate the need for WJ01 / WJ02 according to stability requirements and coal variability.

Validation from coal sample to plant

  1. 01

Receive samples and define slurry targets and operating conditions.

  2. 02

Establish coal, water and particle-size baseline data.

  3. 03

    Compare ZX101 / ZX102 / ZX103 as candidate main additives.

  4. 04

Evaluate concentration gradients, rheology and stability.

  5. 05

Introduce supporting additives where needed and repeat tests.

  6. 06

Confirm the formulation window through pilot and field validation.

These directions support preliminary selection only. Final formulations depend on coal-sample testing and field validation. Coal properties, process water, particle-size distribution, target concentration and plant conditions must be considered together. This page does not promise fixed performance or dosage.
